Like the related Loire Pinot Noir and the Cb.Franc/Cot blend, this is a good value everyday red. Food friendly and versatile, youthful colour, very dry but primarily fruity (rather than flinty as might have been expected from a wine of its provenance and grape). It’s on the rustic side rather than fancy, good with sausages rather than a roast, though I’m sure it would go well with the latter too.
Luckily we still have a few bottles left but, I suspect, not for long . Recommended.
PS We bought some more and find that it goes very well indeed with a mild chèvre. Close to 5 stars, forgetting the excellent value.
