Festive lunches and evenings

We serve our usual breakfast and lunch menus, cooked by our chef Daniel with seasonal ingredients from local producers, alongside festive dishes and a Christmas menu for groups. On selected Friday and Saturday evenings we stay open later for supper clubs and wine tasting evenings, and December fills faster than any other month.

Dates go to our newsletter subscribers first, a week before they open to everyone else. If you want a December evening, that is the way to get one.

Christmas parties and private hire

We host office parties, family gatherings and group lunches through December. Because the wine shop lines the walls, your guests can drink anything on the shelves and David can talk them through it, which makes for a more interesting evening than a set wine list.

Every event is quoted individually. December books up early, often by the end of October, so it is worth asking sooner than feels necessary. See private events for more.

Wine for Christmas Day

Choosing the wine for Christmas lunch is the part people leave too late. Come in and ask David, who chooses every bottle in the shop himself from small European growers, and tell him what you are cooking. Turkey, goose, beef, a nut roast, they all want something different, and he would rather put the right bottle in your hand than sell you the expensive one.
