A quiet place to sit
Heritage Courtyard is tucked away from the street, which makes it an unusually calm spot in the middle of the city. Festooned with greenery, the room suits reading, working for an hour or meeting a friend, and the art centre next door is worth a look while you are here.
It is a short walk from Wells Cathedral, the Bishop's Palace and the Market Place, so it works well as a stop mid-morning or after a wander round town.
From coffee to wine
The wine shop lines the walls, so the move from a morning coffee to a glass at lunch is a short one. David chooses every wine himself from hand-picked European growers, and any bottle on the shelves can be drunk in for £10 corkage.
