Supper Clubs & Wine Tasting Evenings in Wells

Our supper clubs and wine tasting evenings are some of the most enjoyable nights at The Pressoir. They take place in Heritage Courtyard, a few steps from Wells Cathedral, and they're a relaxed, sociable way to spend an evening in Wells: good food, interesting wine, and David on hand to talk you through every glass.

When our supper clubs take place

Our supper clubs usually run on the last weekend of the month, on a Friday or Saturday evening. Through the year we also host one-off themed nights, such as our Spanish and Basque evenings, along with occasional wine tasting evenings on other dates. Every date is announced in advance, so it's worth keeping an eye on What's On at The Pressoir.

What to expect on the night

A supper club is usually a five-course set menu, cooked by our chef Daniel with seasonal, local produce and paired with a flight of wines chosen by David Schroetter. Numbers are limited and evenings are by booking only, so they tend to fill up quickly.

Wine tasting evenings

At our wine tasting evenings, David opens a selection of wines to try and talks through where each one comes from and why he chose it. Having grown up among the vineyards of the Loire Valley, he's at his happiest introducing people to a bottle they might not have found on their own.

How to book

To book, or to ask about a private evening, email David. Members of our Reserve Club (£100 a year) receive the newsletter a week early and get first access to reservations, along with 10% off and complimentary seasonal tastings.
